The Foundation for Clinical Research in IBD recognizes that there are times that IBD patients need immediate access to a restroom facility. However, these facilities are not always accessible, especially in retail establishments that limit use of restrooms to employees only. Therefore, the Foundation designed its Medical Alert Restroom Access Card for IBD patients to use when requesting access to a restroom.
To order a Medical Alert Restroom Access card, please fill out the form below.
In addition to making the card available, The Foundation for Clinical Research in IBD is a proud supporter of the Restroom Access Act, also known as Ally’s Law. This law, currently in effect only in Texas, Illinois and Minnesota, requires retailers to make their employee only toilets available to IBD patients. Legislation to enact Ally’s Law is pending in other states. Please visit www.crohnsandme.com for more information or to see how you can help bring Ally’s Law to your community.

The card reads:
“The holder of this card has Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Colitis is painful and requires immediate access to a toilet facility. This patient cannot physically “hold it.” Please make your restroom available.”
