April 17, 2008 – “On the Road Again” is a unique program for people with UC designed to help them manage the many challenges of their disease. The "On the Road Again" local patient forums are fun, interactive events sponsored by Shire Pharmaceuticals, which feature a series of experts who will focus on disease management and discuss tips for healthy eating, treatment options, strategies for lessening the emotional burden, researching UC on the Internet, and building an online UC community. The forums also give UC patients a chance to share their experiences with others who also have the disease. The forums are complimentary to patients and their friends and family and a healthy meal will be provided. The program will be visiting the following cities this spring and summer: Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Long Island.
