  • MyIBD.org maintains complete control of all audio, written and graphic materials that comprise our programs sponsored through educational grants from pharmaceutical and medical products companies. We do not allow our sponsors/grantors to influence or make changes to our content. In the case of collaborative projects with government agencies or patient advocacy groups, MyIBD.org makes strong efforts to ensure the accuracy and fair balance of information presented.
  • We will always fully disclose on our Web site all sponsorship, underwriting, commercial funding arrangements or support.
  • We will provide a bio/profile for each speaker and contributor to MyIBD.org, and any affiliations relevant to their interaction on MyIBD.org will be disclosed.

THE FOUNDATION IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST REVENUES OR PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS, OR LOSS OF DATA) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH MYIBD.ORG OR THIS USER AGREEMENT, REGARDLESS OFWHETHER SUCH LIABILITY IS BASED IN TORT, CONTRACT OR OTHERWISE. Some states do not allow the limitation for these kinds of damages, so these limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

Termination
We reserve the right to terminate this User Agreement at any time without notice for any reason, including for a user’s violation of any of the User Agreement provisions. The Limitation of Liability and Governing Law sections of this User Agreement shall survive any such termination.

Agreement is Governed by the Laws of New York
This User Agreement and any claim or dispute relating to it will be governed by the laws of the State of new York applicable to contracts made and performed there without regard to its conflicts of law principles.

Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is deemed unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision will be deemed severed and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provision.

MyIBD.org collects only the Personal Information you voluntarily provide either through MyIBD.org or in person in order to (a) register for our newsletter or to receive more information on clinical trials; (b) participate in one of our surveys; (c) participate in our “Ask the Specialist” feature. In each instance, MyIBD.org may ask that you submit certain Personal Information on one of our online registration forms, such as name, age, gender, diagnosis, state of health, current medications, phone number, and email address.

We use this personal data to contact you with information about our educational programs. We may also use your data to continue to send you information about other programs we think you might be interested in.

Anonymous Information
We also collect anonymous information from visitors to MyIBD.org. Our server automatically records the IP addresses of all visitors.
Sharing Your Data
We share your Personal Information only the service providers who help us to run this Informational Site or to fulfill your requests. We may also need to disclose your Personal Information to third parties if required by law or to enforce our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy.

We share Anonymous Data in the aggregate with physicians and other medical organizations or pharmaceutical companies. We do not share any Personal Information with these parties.

Public Forums and Live Programs
This Privacy Policy does not protect you when you use MyIBD.org public forums or provide personal information used in the production and broadcast of a program attended by third parties. As a service to our users, MyIBD.org features bulletin boards and live medical broadcasts and in-person events where users with similar medical conditions can share information and support one another or where users can post questions for experts to answer. You should be aware that any information shared in a bulletin board, “Ask the Doctor” posting, online discussion, live event is public information and may be seen, disclosed to, or collected, by third parties that do not adhere to our Privacy Policy.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. This Web site is not designed or intended to attract children under the age of 13. We do not collect Personal Information from any person we actually know is under the age of 13.
